Brian Buccellato is a #1 New York Times best-selling author and screenwriter, renowned for his work on The Flash, Batman, and Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong for DC Comics. Raised in Queens by a single Puerto Rican mother, he began his career as a colorist for Marvel and DC before transitioning into writing—an unconventional path that shaped his unique approach to storytelling. His creator-owned works (Midlife, Chicken Devil, NO/ONE) have been praised by fans and critics alike for their ability to blend dark themes with emotional authenticity, often drawing from his experiences as a father of three.
Brian has expanded into film and television, bringing his signature mix of epic spectacle and grounded, human stakes to projects such as The Painter and Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders. In 2017, he completed the Universal Feature Writer’s Program, and in 2019, he was a creator in Dan Lin’s inaugural TV development incubator at Rideback, where he developed an original pilot for MRC.
